How It Works

The Paws-Off Handheld Trainer uses ultrasonic sound to train dogs to stop barking and other unwanted behavior. When the dog barks simply press the button and the unit will emit an ultrasonic sound.

Hold the device in your hand and press the button when you hear a dog barking. The sounds will emit out 16ft.

When pressing the button you will hear a beep and a blue light will come on. This indicates the product is functioning normally. The device only works when the button is pressed. The longest working time is 10 seconds. After 10 seconds the device will stop emitting sound.

If there is a red light, that indicates the batteries are low and need to be replaced.

    Dogs can hear a wider range of sound than humans. The Paws-Off Handheld Trainer emits an ultrasonic sound at 25KHz. Humans hear between 20Hx - 20KHz so the ultrasonic sound emitted by this device is not audible to humans.

  • Can I use this on an aggressive dog?

    No, this device will not stop an aggressive or territorial dog from barking, or attacking

  • Is Paws-Off Waterproof?

    No, please avoid submerging the device in water, if it does get submerged, the product will no longer work and is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty.

  • Will The Paws-Off Handheld Trainer hurt my dog?

    No, this device uses ultrasonic sound to correct the dogs behavior. It may be an uncomfortable sound, but it will not hurt them.

  • Can I hear the sound?

    There are 2 tones, one audible beep to indicate that the device has been activated, and the ultrasonic tone that will only turn on when the button is being held down.

  • Can I use this device on my puppy?

    Yes, you can safely use this device on dogs 6 months and older. We do not recommend using it on dogs younger than 6 months as they have not yet learned the ability to understand commands, and their hearing is not fully developed.
